For Quality One to One Pay as You Go Driving Instructor Training

About Rob

My name is Rob Sefton and I own Teach-2-Drive. I am a DSA Approved Driving Instructor and DSA Fleet Registered Trainer with over 25 years experience in all aspects of driver and driving instructor training. I like to provide a first class service and always want my clients to enjoy their training and to develop their skills to a higher standard. My aim is to provide value for money driving instructor training working at the speed of the client. My training is carried out on a pay as you go one to one basis. I will give you my undivided attention as I want you to succeed.

I started my driver training career in 1984 and spent my early years teaching learner drivers. After a few years I began to do some instructor training helping to prepare PDI’s for their ADI qualifying examinations and have continued to do so over the years with considerable success including working full time for one of the UK’s largest driving instructor training organisations.

In the early 1990’s I got involved in advanced driver training and have worked as a fleet trainer for some of the main fleet training companies on a freelance basis. Apart from fleet training, I have also worked as an instructor on National Driver Improvement Schemes for a couple of councils. NDIS is a defensive driving course for drivers who have the prospect of getting points put on their driving licence for driving offences such as driving without due care
and attention. By attending such a course, they can keep the points off their driving licence.

I have also worked in the Middle East where I worked as a defensive driver trainer in Qatar. I delivered power point presentations and on road defensive driver training in a variety of vehicles from cars to buses to clients working in the oil and gas industries. I then took up a position in Oman, where I worked as a Petrol Development Oman (PDO) approved driver assessor/trainer where I worked in a team assessing drivers working on PDO projects. Whilst in Oman, I also trained a few of the Omani driving instructors for their RoSPA Diploma, training them how to deliver advanced driving courses.

In the past, I have also worked as a bus and coach driver in the UK and hold a full manual PCV (category D) licence and have used my experiences in delivering driver training in such vehicles preparing clients for the PCV driving test.

My qualifications and memberships:
• DSA Approved Driving Instructor
• DSA Fleet Registered Trainer
• RoSPA National Diploma in Advanced Driving Instruction
• RoSPA advanced driving test (Passed at Gold)
• Cardington Special Driving Test (Grade A)
• Institute of Advanced Motorists
• Pass Plus Registered
• Driving Instructor's Association
• Motor Schools Association
• Full manual PCV licence holder

I am an avid believer in CPD (Continuous Professional Development) and attend courses myself. By doing so I can ensure that I am up to date thus passing on to my clients any new ideas. Although I am not ORDIT registered at present, I have received the necessary training and will be booking an ORDIT inspection in the near future.
